VENEMOVIES CELEBRATES ITS 2ND ANNIVERSARY BOASTING A STRONG GROWTH

Miami, FL (September 11, 2008) -VeneMovies, the 24-hour Spanish-language movie channel for Pay-TV - launched in United States and Puerto Rico by Venevision International(an entertainment company part of the Cisneros Group), is celebrating its second year on the air, supported by the continual growth of their subscriber base. The company celebrates this anniversary by launching its signal in Houston, Texas, with a special offering of highly anticipated films in anticipation of the Hispanic Heritage Month.

With a modern, fresh and premium on-air presence in the basic tier of Pay-TV, VeneMovies hit the airwaves on September 5th, 2006, establishing itself as a channel that presents the best and most recent films in Spanish, featuring the hottest stars, modern storylines, and quality productions that have made this genre of movies an international phenomenon, competing with the best Hollywood has to offer. The channel is characterized by its attractive on-air packaging, its continual support of Spanish-language films, its coverage of industry events and festivals, and its fresh content. Initially launched through Comcast (the nation’s leading provider of entertainment, information and communications products and services), VeneMovies’ reach has continued to expand and to include other Pay-TV distributors. Having reached approximately one million subscribers in only two years time, the channel is close to achieving full distribution through cable companies, and is currently in negotiations with the market’s mayor satellite operators.
